New Spice and Wolf Anime Secures Second Season

Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf has officially confirmed a second season after its 2024 reboot finale aired.


After the grand finale of Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf in Japan, a second season has been officially confirmed. This news came shortly after the 2024 reboot’s final episode aired on September 24.

Studio Passione, which has been animating the remake, will continue to handle production. Notably, the remake introduced a new arc not featured in the original anime, offering fresh content to both longtime fans and new viewers.

The first season was directed by Hijiri Sanpei, with Takeo Takahashi as chief director, and Koji Haneda overseeing character designs. A new visual teaser has been released for Season 2, fueling anticipation for the continuation of Kraft Lawrence and Holo’s journey.

Returning voice actors include Ami Koshimizu as Holo and Jun Fukuyama as Kraft Lawrence, alongside an ensemble of characters voiced by talents like Saeko Chiba and Akeno Watanabe. The first Spice and Wolf anime aired in 2008 and was animated by the studio Imagin. This reboot has revitalized the story, making it more accessible and engaging for a modern audience.

The story revolves around the travels of Kraft Lawrence, a merchant, and Holo, a wolf deity who brings abundant harvests. Their dynamic adventures promise further exploration of economics, trade, and the nuanced relationships they encounter along the way.
