At Disney’s upfront presentation on Tuesday, Kathryn Hahn, who reprises her role as Agatha, along with co-stars Joe Locke and Patti LuPone, unveiled the series will be called “Agatha All Along.”
The premiere date is set for September 18th, with the first two episodes dropping at once, following the standard format for Marvel Disney+ shows.
The title reveal comes after a string of playful title changes for the series since its announcement in 2021. Titles like “House of Harkness,” “Darkhold Diaries,” and “Coven of Chaos” all swirled around the project, even becoming a bit of a running gag among fans.
Marvel even leaned into the joke with a social media post suggesting “Agatha: The Lying Witch with the Great Wardrobe” as a possibility.
However, the series ultimately chose a title with a special connection to “WandaVision.” “Agatha All Along” is the name of the catchy theme song dedicated to the character in the original show.
The series will maintain some creative continuity with “WandaVision” as Jac Schaeffer returns as head writer and executive producer. Schaeffer played a key role in the success of “WandaVision,” serving in the same capacities for that Emmy-winning show.
Originally slated for a winter 2023 release, the series was pushed back due to industry strikes involving actors and writers. But the wait is finally over, and fans can look forward to Agatha’s return this September.
The TV side of things will now be under the banner of “Marvel Television” which makes Agatha All Along the first project to be released under the new banner.
