Daredevil: Born Again Trailer and Panel Take Over Disney’s D23; Will Feature White Tiger, Muse and Punisher

Daredevil Born Again gets an exclusive trailer, a first look at Punisher, the main villian Muse, Kingpin and White Tiger.

While we eagerly anticipate the release of “Daredevil: Born Again, the Disney D23 panel showcased the first teaser trailer for the series. While the panel offered limited content to the general public, those lucky enough to attend were treated to an exclusive 2-and-a-half-minute teaser trailer.

The new series marks a return for Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock a.k.a Daredevil, and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin. The storyline picks up with both characters attempting to set aside their infamous rivalry and darker alter-egos to confront a larger threat to New York City.

A significant element in the teaser is the introduction of Muse, a serial killer who is poised to challenge Murdock and Fisk. The trailer also teases the appearance of White Tiger, adding another layer of complexity to the plot.

Fans were thrilled to spot Kamala Khan’s father in the footage, along with the confirmation that Murdock will don at least five different Daredevil suits throughout the series.

Jon Bernthal returns as Frank Castle/The Punisher, bringing his intense energy back to the MCU. Deborah Ann Woll reprises her role as Karen Page, and Elden Henson returns as Franklin “Foggy” Nelson. The panel also confirmed the return of Wilson Bethel as Benjamin ‘Dex’ Poindexter/Bullseye, and Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Marianna-Fisk.

The show also introduces several new faces, including Margarita Levieva, Michael Gandolfini, Genneya Walton, Jeremy Earl, and Arty Froushan. Their roles remain largely under wraps, but their inclusion suggests a fresh direction for the series.

A Major Creative Overhaul

Originally planned as an 18-episode series, Daredevil: Born Again underwent significant changes during production, partly due to industry strikes. The retooled series will now span two seasons of nine episodes each, with the second season set to begin filming soon.

Despite these changes, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige assured fans that the essence of the original Netflix series remains intact. The panel also served as a reunion for the stars, who last appeared in the original Netflix series from 2015 to 2018.

Feige acknowledged the fan demand for a Daredevil series, saying, “In Daredevil: Born Again, we’ve channeled the essence of the original series but set an entirely new path for Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk.”

March 2025 Premiere on Disney+

The first season of Daredevil: Born Again is slated to premiere on Disney+ in March 2025. Fans can expect a darker, more violent tone, as hinted at by Daredevil’s grim lines in the teaser: “Somebody’s gotta protect the streets” and “New York is what it’s always been: Out for blood.”

The second season of Daredevil: Born Again is also confirmed to be in the works.
