Twin Engine has released a thrilling new trailer for the anime film Mononoke the Movie: Karakasa. The film, which continues the adventures of the Medicine Seller, is set to hit theaters in Japan on July 26, 2024.
The newly released trailer showcases the Medicine Seller in action as he attempts to exorcise malevolent spirits, giving us a glimpse of the upcoming intense confrontations. The trailer, which includes subtitles in Simplified Chinese, English, Japanese, and Spanish, previews the theme song “Love Sick” by Aina The End.

Cast and Crew
Directed by Kenji Nakamura at Twin Engine EOTA, the film boasts a talented crew:

Previously announced cast members include Tomoyo Kurosawa as Asa, Aoi Yūki as Kame, and Mami Koyama as Kayama. Notably, Hiroshi Kamiya will now voice the Medicine Seller, replacing Takahiro Sakurai.

Film Details
Set in feudal Japan, “Mononoke the Movie: Karakasa” follows the Medicine Seller as he battles evil spirits known as mononoke. To vanquish these spirits, he must understand their Form, Truth, and Reason, wielding his spirit-slaying sword with sharp wit and precision.
Mononoke originally premiered in 2007 as a 12-episode series, serving as a spinoff from the Ayakashi – Samurai Horror Tales anime. It follows the story of The Medicine Seller from the “Bakeneko” arc. The series has garnered a cult following and is available for streaming on platforms like Crunchyroll and Netflix.
