Fans of Remnant II can look forward to an exciting update on September 24, when the game will release its final DLC, The Dark Horizon, alongside a major free content update featuring the new Boss Rush mode.

The Dark Horizon DLC is releasing on September 24

Priced at $9.99, The Dark Horizon transports players back to the world of N’Erud. Here, they will explore an alien necropolis filled with robotic caretakers and rogue AI that threaten the safety of every Traveler.

The DLC will introduce a new storyline where players must uncover the mysteries behind a colossal entity that looms over the Nerud skyline. There is a new glider traversal system, which is very interesting since traversal is very limited in the game. The glider is probably to travel in the overworld which cannot be accessed otherwise.

With the new DLC, there is a new archetype as well. The new archetype is called The Warden, which is equipped with a versatile drone capable of shielding, healing, and attacking enemies. Players will also acquire powerful weapons, new items like amulets, and more to help them survive the treacherous environment.

Boss Rush Mode and Free Content

For those who aren’t purchasing the DLC, a free content update will include the Boss Rush mode. This mode allows players to battle bosses in a fast-paced gauntlet, either solo or with friends in multiplayer.

This mode offers three difficulty tiers designed to challenge even the most experienced players. The tiers include Triple Threat, a shorter three-boss run; Trial by Fire, a more extended seven-boss run; and The Gauntlet, which demands players to face off against a grueling nineteen-boss sequence.

The primary goal of the mode is to battle through hordes of enemies, including powerful Aberrations, while confronting bosses to claim rare and elusive loot such as weapons you may have missed during the main campaign. During each run, players can earn temporary buffs that provide useful stat increases and passive bonuses, which can significantly enhance survivability and combat efficiency.

To access Boss Rush you need to head to the World Stone in Ward 13 and select Boss Rush from the game modes menu, alongside Campaign and Adventure modes. Once the mode is selected, players can choose their preferred difficulty and jump right into the action.

This update also introduces Prisms, a new feature to the fragment system, adding more depth to character customization by granting additional stat bonuses. Quality-of-life improvements will also be included in this major update.

This new mode adds fresh replayability to Remnant II, giving players another opportunity to test their skills, sharpen their strategies, and collect some of the game’s most sought-after rewards.

Developed by Gunfire Games and published by Arc Games, this expansion promises fresh gameplay elements for players on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game is also available on Xbox Game Pass.
