Tango Gameworks, now under Krafton’s ownership, is evolving Hi-Fi Rush 2 into a more dynamic and open-world style game following feedback from fans of the original. The new game aims to move beyond the linear factory-like levels of its predecessor, though it may not become fully open-world.
Instead, it will provide more expansive environments for players to explore. The studio also plans to implement advanced rhythm-based technology to enhance gameplay synchronization. Currently, the project is on hold while assets are transferred from Microsoft.
In addition to the sequel, Krafton is considering releasing DLC for the original Hi-Fi Rush and expanding its availability to more platforms, including a possible release on the Nintendo Switch.
That’s what the team really wants. I think [they] want to work on Hi-Fi Rush DLC [too] because they are dedicated to ensuring that Hi-Fi Rush 2 upholds high standards of quality. They don’t want to rush the sequel but take the necessary time to refine the game and come up with a different experience.
Maria Park, Head of Krafton Corporate Development
This focus on quality over speed shows Krafton’s intent to build on the game’s momentum carefully and thoughtfully.
