The Shangri-La Frontier Season 2 trailer teases new adventures, featuring LiSA’s opening song “QUEEN” and otoha’s ending theme.


Excitement is building for the return of Shangri-La Frontier, as the anime’s second season is set to premiere on October 13, 2024, with a brand-new trailer now available. The trailer showcases the opening theme song, “QUEEN,” performed by acclaimed artist LiSA. Fans can also look forward to the ending theme, “Dancer in the Dark Night,” sung by otoha.

The anime, produced by studio C2C, will air over two consecutive cours, following the same format as its first season.

Returning Cast and Crew

The new season brings back key staff members from season one, including Toshiyuki Kubooka as director and Kazuyuki Fudeyasu handling the series composition. Ayumi Kurashima continues as the character designer and chief animation director, while MONACA returns as the music composer.

New additions to the voice cast include Yuka Terasaki as Akane Akitsu and Natsuki Hanae as Ceecrue, adding fresh dynamics to the expansive virtual world of Shangri-La Frontier​.

Plot Overview: Shangri-La Frontier follows Rakuro Hizutome, an expert in tackling “crap games,” as he dives into the popular VR game Shangri-La Frontier, filled with challenges, powerful rivals, and unforeseen twists.

The anime adaptation is based on the original web novel by Katarina and the manga illustrated by Ryosuke Fuji, which is also available in English through Kodansha USA​.

As the premiere date approaches, fans are eagerly awaiting to see how Rakuro’s journey unfolds in this immersive gaming world. Catch the series streaming on Crunchyroll starting October 13.
