The Nintendo Direct presentation had a lot of game trailers, gameplay, and updates lined up. While news about the much-awaited Switch 2 was notably absent, Nintendo more than made up for it with a slew of new titles and updates for existing games.

From the return of beloved franchises like Mario and Luigi and Dragon Quest to new experiences in games like MIO: Memories in Orbit and Fantasian Neo Dimension, this showcase has something for every Switch fan.

Mario & Luigi: Brothership

Prepare for an exciting new adventure with Mario & Luigi: Brothership, releasing on November 7, 2024. This vibrant game will take players to Shipshape Island, a unique blend of island and ship located in the land of Concordia. Expect diverse environments, from lush rainforests to bustling cities, and encounters with beloved characters like Peach and Bowser.

Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition

Launching on July 18, this game brings back classic NES nostalgia with over 150 speedrunning challenges across 13 iconic NES titles. Compete for the best times and prove your retro gaming skills in the Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition.

Fairy Tail 2

Fairy Tail 2, developed by Koei Tecmo and Gust, is set to bring the final arc of Hiro Mashima’s popular manga to life. This action RPG will let players join Natsu and his friends in epic battles and adventures.

FANTASIAN Neo Dimension

Originally an Apple Arcade exclusive, Fantasian is now making its way to the Switch and other platforms as Fantasian Neo Dimension. With guidance from Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi and music by Nobuo Uematsu, this turn-based RPG includes English and Japanese voiceovers, a new difficulty setting, and unique battle mechanics.

MIO: Memories in Orbit

Set to release in 2025, MIO: Memories in Orbit is a 2D action-RPG where players control MIO, an android stranded on a massive spaceship. The game features a mix of exploration and combat against rogue machines in a vast, open environment.

Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Launching next year, Hello Kitty Island Adventure will let players join Hello Kitty and her friends on a tropical island getaway. Engage in activities like cooking, solving puzzles, and decorating cabins in this charming, cozy adventure.

Looney Tunes: Wacky World of Sports

Get ready for Looney Tunes: Wacky World of Sports, coming later this year. This sports game features tennis, soccer, golf, and basketball with a wacky twist, starring your favorite Merry Melodies characters. Expect plenty of cartoonish antics and over-the-top gameplay.

Among Us – New Roles

Now available, Metal Slug Attack Reloaded reimagines the classic run-and-gun series as a tower defense game. With its iconic 2D-pixel art, players must strategize to fend off waves of enemies and survive.

Darkest Dungeon II

Darkest Dungeon 2 arrives on the Switch on July 15. This rogue-lite RPG sequel invites players on a harrowing journey through nightmarish locations, emphasizing strategy and survival.

Super Mario Party Jamboree

Launching on October 17, 2024, Super Mario Party Jamboree takes players to a massive island resort. Featuring five new boards, two classic boards, over 110 minigames, and a Koopathlon mode for up to 20 players, it’s the ultimate party game experience.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

In a surprising reveal, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will launch on September 26, 2024, with Princess Zelda as the main character. She must uncover the mystery behind the disappearances of Link and other Hyrule inhabitants, using the power of the Tri Rod to solve puzzles and create pathways.

LEGO Horizon Adventures

Previously announced at the Summer Games Fest, LEGO Horizon Adventures is also coming to the Switch later this year. A new trailer showcased the exciting adventures awaiting players in this LEGO-themed world.

Just Dance 2025, launching in October 2024, features 40 new songs to get players moving. Dance to the latest hits and enjoy new choreographies.

Ace Attorney Investigations Collection

Releasing on September 6, the Ace Attorney Investigations Collection includes remastered versions of Miles Edgeworth and Prosecutor’s Gambit. The latter will be available in English for the first time, bringing more legal drama and courtroom intrigue to fans.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

After a long wait, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond was showcased with a release window set for 2025. Fans got a glimpse of Samus Aran’s new adventure, promising exciting gameplay and exploration.

The Hundred Line – Last Defense Academy

Coming next year, The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy is a new title from the creators of Danganronpa. Players will endure a 100-day ordeal, battling terrifying creatures as Takumi Sumino.

Romancing SaGa 2

Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven is a full remake of the beloved RPG, set for release on October 24. It includes English voiceovers, original and rearranged music by Kenji Ito, and epic strategic battles.

Basketball Coming to Nintendo Switch Sports
