My Dress-Up Darling Anime Sequel Set for 2025 Release

The beloved anime My Dress-Up Darling returns in 2025, continuing Wakana and Marin’s heartwarming journey of cosplay and connection.

The highly anticipated sequel to the anime adaptation of Shinichi Fukuda’s manga, My Dress-Up Darling (Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru), is officially scheduled to premiere in 2025. This announcement was revealed through the cover of Square Enix’s Young Gangan magazine.

The original 12-episode anime, produced by CloverWorks, aired from January to March 2022, garnering significant acclaim for its unique blend of romance and cosplay culture. The series follows high school student Wakana Gojo, an aspiring doll-artisan, who forms an unexpected bond with his popular classmate, Marin Kitagawa, through their shared interest in cosplay.

In addition to the anime, a live-action television drama adaptation premiered in Japan on October 9, 2024, further expanding the series’ reach and popularity. The manga series, which began serialization in Young Gangan in January 2018, has achieved impressive commercial success, with over 11 million copies in circulation as of May 2024.

Fans of the series can look forward to the continuation of Wakana and Marin’s story in the upcoming anime sequel, with more details about the release expected to be announced soon.

The upcoming sequel promises to delve deeper into their evolving relationship, potentially exploring new cosplay projects and personal challenges that bring them closer. With the manga currently in its “Tenmei” (Mandate of Heaven) arc, fans speculate that the anime might adapt these emotionally rich chapters.
