The eagerly awaited DLC for Lies of P is officially set to launch in the first quarter of 2025. This dark reinterpretation of Pinocchio’s tale captured fans of the Soulslike genre when it debuted in September 2023, quickly selling over one million copies within its first month.
Developer Round 8 Studios, alongside publisher Neowiz, is aiming to expand the game’s narrative and gameplay depth with the upcoming content, while also laying the groundwork for a full sequel.
Meanwhile, Round 8 Studios has set its sights on an ambitious new project: a sci-fi survival horror game built using Unreal Engine 5. This upcoming title will target PC and console platforms and marks a significant genre shift for the team, moving away from their Soulslike roots.
The studio is actively recruiting for roles such as level designers and scenario planners to support this venture. While details remain scarce, the game’s focus on a popular genre signals a strategic effort to broaden Neowiz’s portfolio.
The timing of these announcements aligns with a critical juncture for Neowiz. Despite the strong performance of Lies of P, the company experienced a significant downturn in 2024, with a 21% drop in sales and a 68% reduction in operating profit.
To address this, Neowiz has entered a publishing deal with ZAKAZANE, a Polish studio founded by ex-CD Projekt Red developers, to release a noir Western RPG. These moves highlight Neowiz’s efforts to diversify and regain financial momentum.
