Actor and comedian Lamorne Morris, known for his role in “Fargo,” has been cast as a series regular alongside Nicolas Cage in the upcoming live-action series “Spider-Noir.” This series, produced by MGM+ and Prime Video, is based on the Marvel comic “Spider-Man Noir.”
Originally titled “Noir,” the series has been renamed “Spider-Noir” to emphasize its connection to the Spider-Man universe. In the show, Cage portrays an aging, down-on-his-luck private investigator in 1930s New York, who must confront his past as the city’s sole superhero.

Morris will play Robbie Robertson, a driven and hardworking journalist in 1930s New York. As a black professional facing significant challenges, Robertson is committed to tackling risky stories that others avoid, striving to make a name for himself and secure a paycheck. He is willing to go to great lengths to advance his career.

The series is helmed by executive producers and co-showrunners Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot. Harry Bradbeer will direct and executive produce the first two episodes. The project is developed in collaboration with Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal, the team behind “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” who also serve as executive producers.
“Spider-Noir” will premiere domestically on MGM+’s linear channel and will be available globally on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories.
