In recent news, Guinness World Records has officially recognized Jujutsu Kaisen as the “most in-demand animated TV show,” a title previously held by Attack on Titan since 2020. This recognition is based on data provided by Parrot Analytics, which measures “demand” using metrics such as social media engagement, viewership, and research actions.
Parrot Analytics defines “demand” as a combination of attention, engagement, desire, and viewership. Social media engagement includes metrics like likes, shares, and related hashtags, while viewership focuses on downloads and streams. Research actions involve looking up the series on platforms like IMDb. The analysis indicates that actions like streaming carry more weight due to the effort required.
Jujutsu Kaisen’s surge in popularity, particularly towards the end of 2023, contributed significantly to its achievement. This surge coincided with the airing of the Shibuya Incident Arc. In December, the show reached a peak of “128 times the demand of the average show,” with 71.3 percent of viewers falling within the Gen Z demographic (ages 13-22).
While other contenders, such as the One Piece anime, were in contention, Jujutsu Kaisen’s increased demand during the specified period led to its surpassing of the previous record holder.
Jujutsu Kaisen’s recognition by Guinness World Records as the “most in-demand animated TV show” underscores its significant popularity, as evidenced by data-driven metrics provided by Parrot Analytics.
