The highly anticipated “Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle” movie is set for Blu-ray and DVD release in Japan on October 30. This movie is the first of two final films in the Haikyu!! series. The film, which had a stellar opening weekend in Japan following its February 16 debut, will also be available with English subtitles. A short commercial has been released to mark this announcement.

The story follows Shoyo Hinata, who joins Karasuno High’s volleyball club, inspired by his idol, the “Little Giant,” a former Karasuno player. Hinata must partner with his middle school rival, Tobio Kageyama. Despite their differences, they form a formidable team. The film culminates in the “Dumpster Battle,” an eagerly awaited showdown with their rival, Nekoma High.

Haruichi Furudate created the original Haikyu!! manga, which ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2012 to 2020, concluding with 405 chapters across 45 volumes. Viz Media licensed the manga for English readers.
Production I.G animated both the film and the TV series. The anime premiered in 2014, followed by a second season in late 2015, a third season in Fall 2016, and a fourth season, Haikyuu!! To the Top, which aired in Winter 2020 and Fall 2020.
