Fans of Syundei’s beloved Boys’ Love (BL) manga Go For It, Nakamura-kun!! have reason to celebrate as the series is officially getting a TV anime adaptation. The announcement was made following the launch of the series’ official website and social media accounts on X (formerly known as Twitter). Although details such as the staff, cast, or release date have not yet been revealed, the news has already generated significant excitement among fans.
The original manga, serialized by Syundei in Edge Comix’s Opera magazine from 2014 to 2016, was released as a single volume. The story centers on Okuto Nakamura, a shy and awkward high school student who falls head over heels for his dreamy classmate, Aiki Hirose, despite never having spoken to him. The manga humorously follows Nakamura’s attempts to muster the courage to approach Hirose, often leading to hilariously awkward situations that endear him to readers.
In addition to the original series, Syundei also created a sequel titled Go For It Again, Nakamura-kun!! that ran from 2017 to 2021. This sequel was also compiled into a single volume and continued to explore the blossoming relationship between Nakamura and Hirose, much to the delight of fans.
The anime adaptation will be produced by Aniplex, one of the leading companies in the anime industry, which announced the project directly through their platforms. To commemorate the occasion, Syundei shared a special illustration, further fueling anticipation for the anime’s release.
