Giancarlo is playing Seth Voelker a.k.a Sidewinder and a new footage shown as SDCC confirms that the celestial Tiamut is made of Adamantium.

After weeks of speculation regarding Giancarlo’s role in the MCU, we now know who Giancarlo is playing. The first trailer for Captain America: Brave New World gave us a good look at Giancarlo’s character but it was not clear which character he was playing. While many speculated it to be G.W. Bridge, he is not playing that.

The main cast of the movie assembled in the Hall H of SDCC and Giancarlo announced that he would be playing the “King of Serpents” – Sidewinder. The attendees were also treated with footage that confirms a lot of other details.

The movie acknowledges Tiamut Island, and Adamantium will play a big role

The footage begins at the White House, where President Ross (Harrison Ford) is hosting an event discussing the celestial mass that appeared on Earth. He explains that many people tried to claim it, creating chaos. However, thanks to Captain America, they discovered something valuable: adamantium. Yes, that adamantium.

In a subsequent scene, Sam (Anthony Mackie) and Ross are seen talking in the Oval Office. Ross wants Cap to rebuild the Avengers, but Cap reminds him that Ross’s Sokovia Accords previously dismantled the team. He questions what will happen if they disagree again. There is no answer.

A series of action scenes follow, including part of the White House being destroyed. Sam, now in a regular suit, walks confidently into the Situation Room and demands to speak with the President. Everyone leaves except for one woman, Ruth (Shira Haas). Ross insists she stays. Sam expresses concern that Ross’s inner circle is compromised, but Ross tells Ruth to dismiss it. Sam calls it nonsense, but Ross attributes it to politics.

A hooded figure is shown killing several people in a room. Captain America and Falcon (Danny Ramirez) fly together, with Cap throwing his shield mid-air while his wings are spread. The phrase “The Future Favors the Brave” appears on screen.

Ross is later giving a speech outside the White House when shots are fired. He ducks and begins to transform into Red Hulk, with Harrison Ford’s face rendered via motion capture.

The main consists of “Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, who has taken over the mantle of Captain America, Harrison Ford as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, along with Danny Ramirez as the new Falcon, Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, and Giancarlo Esposito as Seth Voelker, aka Sidewinder, a founding member of the Serpent Society. Liv Tyler as Betty Ross and Tim Blake Nelson as the Leader also feature in the film.

Captain America: Brave New World is set to release on 14 February 2025.
