Microsoft is adding Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III to Xbox Game Pass starting July 24, 2024. This marks the first time a Call of Duty game is available on the subscription service. This move comes shortly after Microsoft announced price increases for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, set to take effect on September 12, 2024.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will be available across Xbox Game Pass for Console, PC Game Pass, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The price hikes will see Xbox Game Pass Ultimate rise to $19.99 per month, up from $16.99, and PC Game Pass will increase to $11.99 per month. Additionally, Microsoft is planning to introduce a new “Standard” tier, which will not include day-one game releases but will include online multiplayer​.

The inclusion of Modern Warfare III on Game Pass is seen as a strategic move to mitigate customer dissatisfaction with the price increases. Furthermore, Microsoft has confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will also join Xbox Game Pass later this year, available on day one for existing subscribers. New members will need to subscribe to the top-tier Ultimate plan for day-one access to new Call of Duty titles​.
