The new season will start this October! After the first season premiered in October 2022 and was a big hit, fans are super excited for more soccer action and intense competitions.
If you need a reminder, the first season of Blue Lock was all about finding the best young soccer player in Japan. The Japan Football Union gathered 300 top youth players to create the ultimate Ace Striker. The anime aired on TV Asahi and its affiliates, and Crunchyroll streamed it worldwide, including an English dub.
The Blue Lock manga, created by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yūsuke Nomura, started in August 2018 and has been very popular. Kodansha USA Publishing releases the manga both digitally and in print.
The story focuses on Japan’s effort to find the perfect striker after a disappointing 2018 World Cup. The manga even won the Best Shōnen Manga award in Kodansha’s 45th annual Manga Awards in 2021.
