Microsoft is reportedly planning to include the upcoming Call of Duty instalment in its Xbox Game Pass subscription. According to The Wall Street Journal, this announcement is expected to be made during Microsoft’s Xbox showcase on June 9th.
This move follows Microsoft’s $68.7 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard in late 2023, which brought the Call of Duty franchise under Microsoft’s umbrella.
Sarah Bond, during an interview with Bloomberg, confirmed that every first-party game owned by Microsoft, including Call of Duty, would launch on Game Pass. Bond highlighted that more major titles are expected to join the subscription service later this year.
Dataminers have also been active, with recent leaks suggesting a Black Ops 6 reveal is imminent. A datamined blueprint for Call of Duty 2024 hinted at “SALLY 6” in tallies, indicating that a major announcement could align with the development timeline of Black Ops 6.
Adding to the excitement, pre-order bonuses for Black Ops 6 reportedly include a new operator for Modern Warfare 3—Woods. This iconic character from previous Black Ops titles returns, now older and more grizzled, with visible scars and wrinkles marking his journey.
