Ubisoft has finally unveiled the official title for their upcoming Assassin’s Creed game set in Feudal Japan – Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
Previously known by the codename Assassin’s Creed Red, the game was first announced in 2022 by developer Ubisoft Quebec (Assassin’s Creed Odyssey).
The announcement came alongside a cryptic image featuring an hourglass in a modern Japanese setting. Ubisoft teased a “countdown” on their social media channels leading up to a full reveal scheduled for Wednesday, May 15th at 9 am PT (9.30 pm IST).
The official Assassin’s Creed Shadows landing page on the Ubisoft Store adds to the mystery with images containing puzzling number sequences.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Release Date Leaked
One of the channels of Ubisoft has accidentally leaked the release day for the Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The release date is November 14, 2024.
While Ubisoft remains tight-lipped about the details, rumours from reliable sources suggest exciting features for Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
The game is said to offer a dual-protagonist experience with a playable male samurai, possibly based on the historical figure Yasuke. It will also feature a female shinobi/ninja whose details are still under wraps.
The gameplay is expected to see a return to the series’ roots with a focus on stealth mechanics, potentially incorporating elements from Ubisoft’s Splinter Cell franchise. Destructible environments are also rumoured to be part of the experience.
