Ubisoft and Evil Empire, the developers behind The Rogue Prince of Persia, have announced an exciting roadmap for 2025 following the game’s massive “Second Act” update. The update, celebrated as the most significant since the game entered Early Access in May 2024, has nearly doubled its content and redefined its art and gameplay mechanics. Here’s the roadmap for 2025:
The process of collecting, equipping, and upgrading medallions will be simplified to ensure smoother gameplay. This change addresses community concerns about the system being overly complex and interrupting the flow of play.
Developers are tackling issues like input lag and animation locks while refining the overall “gamefeel” with smoother animations, better audio feedback, and visually engaging effects.
The final story act, additional biomes, and new bosses are planned for 2025, alongside further localization support and updates based on community input. Several biomes will receive updates to improve procedural generation, making each run feel more varied and immersive. Environmental interactions like collapsing structures and breakable objects will also bring more life to the game’s world.
Initially focusing on visual enhancements for biome transitions, the team aims to reduce loading times later in the year by optimizing level-generation processes.
Feedback has been central to the game’s development, leading to quality-of-life improvements such as automatic item pickups and better difficulty scaling. This approach will continue into 2025 with further tweaks and surprises.

Key Announcements on Denuvo and Ubisoft Connect
The developers confirmed that the controversial anti-piracy software Denuvo will not be included in the game upon its Steam 1.0 release. Additionally, Ubisoft Connect will remain optional for players.
The “Second Act” update introduced new biomes, bosses, a refined story, and improved localization, alongside visual upgrades that brought a vibrant new style to the game. Fans also enjoyed enhanced music from Persian-American artist ASADI and gameplay refinements that make runs more engaging.
2025 promises to be a milestone year as The Rogue Prince of Persia continues its journey toward full release. With a focus on refining existing features and delivering new content, the game is poised to further solidify its place among top roguelike titles.
