An original anime Mecha-Ude: Mechanical Arms has just released a new trailer ahead of its October 3 premiere on Crunchyroll and Aniplus. The anime, directed by Okamoto and produced by the up-and-coming TriF Studio, introduces a vibrant mix of mechanical action and human drama.
It centers around Hikaru, an ordinary middle school student, who meets Alma, a “Mecha-Ude” – a mechanical lifeform that binds with humans. Together, they find themselves entangled in battles with a shadowy organization bent on harnessing the power of these mechanical beings.
The trailer gives a glimpse into the personalities of the central characters of the anime. Notable voices include Toshiyuki Toyonaga as Hikaru, Tomokazu Sugita as Alma, and Romi Park as Kagami. The supporting cast includes some renowned names like Aoi Yūki and Yōko Hikasa.
The anime’s visual and production elements are also exciting. Character designs are by Terumi Nishii and Yoko Uchida, while the mecha concepts are the work of Nurikabe. The music is handled by a powerhouse trio—Hiroyuki Sawano, KOHTA YAMAMOTO, and DAIKI from AWSM.
In terms of themes, the show’s opening and ending songs, “VORTEX” and “karma” by Setsuko, fit well with the futuristic, action-packed tone. Fans of both mecha and character-driven anime have a lot to look forward to with this one.
