The new season debuts with returning cast, new characters, and an exciting theme song on October 7, 2024.


The highly anticipated second season of Seirei Gensouki – Spirit Chronicles is set to premiere on October 7, 2024, according to the anime’s official website. The first episode will air on TV Tokyo at 25:30 (effectively October 8 at 1:30 AM) and will also be broadcast on BS Fuji and AT-X on October 9 and 11, respectively. Streaming services like ABEMA and U-NEXT will offer the series starting on October 8.

Directed by Hiroshi Kubo, the new season is being animated by TMS Entertainment, with Osamu Yamasaki supervising and contributing to the script alongside Mitsutaka Hirota, Megumu Sasano, and Yoshiko Nakamura.

Fans can expect a returning voice cast, with Yoshitsugu Matsuoka reprising his role as Rio and new cast members like Aguri Ōnishi as Masato Sendō and Marika Kōno as Aki Sendō.

The season’s opening theme, Auftakt, will be performed by Aguri Ōnishi, while Nanaka Suwa will perform the ending song, Shuntaika.

Following the success of its first season in 2021, which streamed on Crunchyroll, Seirei Gensouki continues to adapt the light novel series by Yuri Kitayama. The story follows Rio, a boy who, after awakening the memories of his past life as a Japanese university student, must navigate a world of swords and magic while grappling with his dual identity.
