Marvel Rivals, the hit free-to-play hero shooter from NetEase Games, is gearing up for its most anticipated content drop yet. Season 1, titled “Eternal Night Falls,” will launch on January 10, 2025.
Leading the charge is the iconic Fantastic Four, marking their debut in the Marvel Rivals universe. Fans will finally get to play as Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing, who are stepping in to combat a dire threat: Dracula. The infamous vampire lord has shrouded New York in eternal darkness, raising an army of vampires and threatening the world with his sinister ambitions.

The new storyline also teases a cosmic twist involving Dracula and Doctor Doom. The duo’s nefarious plot involves disrupting the moon’s orbit to ensure perpetual night, further complicating the fight for Earth’s survival. Adding to the stakes, Doctor Strange has been trapped in the Entangled Astral Plane, leaving the heroes to fend for themselves against these overwhelming odds.
Although the trailer did not showcase any gameplay, it set the tone for the dark and suspenseful theme of the season. Fans can look forward to learning more about the new characters and gameplay mechanics in the days leading up to the update.
“Eternal Night Falls” also promises additional seasonal content, including new maps, cosmetics, and events that will align with its vampiric theme.
Marvel Rivals is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC, with the Season 1 update scheduled to go live at 1 a.m. PST / 4 a.m. EST on launch day. The official trailer has already sparked excitement, giving fans a glimpse of the chaos and heroics to come.
